More pics of Helsingborg

Right, here are some more pics of our Helsingborg game. Click the pics for larger images.

First up is an action shot of my poor, long-suffering opponent Steve as he plots my demise.

Swedish cavalry on the right flank charge uncontrollably forward in pursuit of the fleeing Danes.

Meanwhile over on the left flank the Danish cavalry are doling out some hurt to the Swedes.

In the centre the Swedish Livregiment til Hest sidles crabwise from one flank to the other. I should probably make some column stands for each unit too, so that they can march properly.

  1. Great-looking battle.
I know I don't need to convince you of the worthiness of small-scale mass, but it's nice to see what looks like a real battle in motion

  2. Thanks. I'm glad you appreciate it. One day I shall finish fettling the hex tiles too, you know!

  3. Great looking battle. A question, I notice the Swedes do not have pikes on the bases any reason you modled them like this? did you use the baccus Swedish figures? Just interested because I like the look without the pikes and may copy it.

  5. Hi, glad you enjoyed the photos. Some of the units do have pikes but not all. Many of the Swedish units at Helsingborg appear not to have had pikes, which were in short supply at this time. I have never understood why muskets would be easier to get than pikes, but it seems to have been that way. For the earlier battles I would use more units with pikes.

The figures are all Baccus 6mm. I really like the Baccus figures a lot and just wish their range was as broad as Irregular's! Mind you, that would leave my bank account utterly empty for a long time to come! :-)
